The entire process takes between 3 and 15 minutes to loosen your tooth free with a dental elevator and forceps. Surgical extractions are needed for teeth trapped under the gums, which is common for impacted wisdom teeth and broken teeth. Once we make a small incision in the gums to reach your submerged tooth, we can continue similarly to a simple extraction.
